An Important Beginning
Kindergarten ushers in an exciting time for your family. Our kindergarten teachers are ready to welcome your students with love and nurture as they train in everything from how to walk down the hall and hold a pencil correctly to phonics, handwriting, mathematics, and literature. Their love and patience helps to develop good habits and sculpt hearts.
Some of the core events in kindergarten are Culture Day, 100th Day celebration, and Dr. Seuss Day parade. Kindergartners participate in chapels, host mystery readers, and develop friendships with secondary students on unity days.

Is Your Child Ready?
School readiness is defined as the “ability to cope, learn, and achieve without undue stress.” Each child is a unique human being growing and developing at his/her own pace.

Admittance to kindergarten begins with an admissions application which will lead to a standardized kindergarten entrance assessment. Potential students must be five years old by August 1 and pass the entrance assessment, which assesses maturity, interest, and the ability to attend to tasks during the assessment.
Assessing kindergarten readiness can be difficult. We have created an “Assessing Kindergarten Readiness” document here to assist in making final decisions about your child's readiness and prepare your child for kindergarten at our school.
